ptyk (People That You Know) is an experimental collaborative artist collective committed to redefining the boundaries of modern music. Established in 2019, PTYK emerged from the creative synergy of a diverse group of artists—each bringing their unique voice and vision to the table.
Originally known as Lola, the collective’s name was inspired by the studio dog at the garage studio where its founding members first met. The initial spark for PTYK came during a recording session involving mooq, neo.itm, and otto, where the group recorded the first track under the name Lola. As the creative sessions continued, PTYK’s sound evolved, and the collective began to grow, eventually welcoming kinko valentino, shi zay, lorel, stoney carter, gia ivy, paul jackson, and jakefish into the fold.
Though these artists form the foundation of the collective, ptyk’s collaborative nature allows for an ever-expanding roster. Artists who cross paths with ptyk are invited to contribute, further enriching the collective’s evolving sound with each new project.
At its core, ptyk is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of genre and form. The collective’s music explores and celebrates contrast—blending diverse vocals, instrumentation, and styles within a single track to create something entirely unique. Every project is a sonic experiment, forging a new sound each time it’s brought to life.
With a shared vision of innovation and artistic freedom, the future of ptyk is as limitless as the sounds they create—a truly exciting evolution for this ever-growing collective of alchemists.
